Sep. 9th - Canal du Midi 🇫🇷

After a beautiful sunset last night we moored at a quiet spot on the canal close to nothing but nature. This morning we cruised for 3 hours to the beautiful little village of Le Somail, a hamlet in fact, in the Aude department of southwestern France. The 17th century Saint-Marcel bridge in Le Somail crosses the canal at this point and became a landmark of the town which was the resting place for passengers on the mail barge operating between Toulouse and Agde. What a beautiful morning on the barge.
