May 16 - Sorrento, Italy 🇮🇹

We arrived early this morning after an

overnight crossing from Sicily. Unbelievably we caught a volcanic eruption and a full moon on a small island in the Mediterranean near the Strait of Messina. Sorrento is a coastal town in southwestern Italy, facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas, it’s known for sweeping water views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square. The historic centre is a Warren of narrow alleys that’s home to the Chinese di San Francisco, a 14th century church with a tranquil cloister. It’s so great to be back here. The last time was about a decade ago with our kids Mark, Jenni, and Bobby!
