May 11 - Barranco and the bridge of sighs (Puente de Suspiros)

Lima at this time of year is blanketed by morning fog that may or may not burn off during the day. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side so the beautiful ocean views from our 24th floor room were somewhat obscured, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying one of the most beautiful areas of the city, Barranco. This is a lively artisanal area with musicians, painters, art galleries, and quaint little boutiques and restaurants. We enjoyed a day on the waterfront immensely. Tomorrow we jet off to the high Andes to explore the land of the Incas.

Bridge of Sighs. Legend has it that couples hold hands and make a wish on this bridge and it will be granted...of course we did!
