Our first full day in Provence. It’s HOT and the Villa which is more than 230 years old has no air conditioning. The 3 foot thick walls of the Gite are no challenge for the heat which soaks through them and raises the temperature of the house to a very uncomfortable level. Debb & I picked the short straw and got a bedroom in the loft just under the tiled roof. It’s an absolute sauna! There’s no escaping the heat and it’s exhausting. For this Father’s Day we elected to spend the day around the pool and try to stay cool. The mercury hit 42 today! Smoking hot! Thankfully the pool is good relief!
