July 17 - Menaggio, Italy 🇮🇹

Everyone needs a lazy day and today this was ours. We had a leisurely breakfast then thought we’d rent a vapore (motor boat) to tour around Lake Como. Well, can you believe you have to organize this a day in advance? That’s so much not our style. So, instead of a day on the lake in a boat we decide a day of leisure from the shore. All is good. We walk around town, then have a beautiful late lunch, the white linen kind, with a bottle of rose. How good is that? It’s always great to have a complete day of rest. No where to go. Nothing to do. No people to meet. It’s only us. Today is that day. We found the most lovely restaurant for lunch. Debb had pistachio crusted lamb chops, I had some beautiful John Dorey fish. All washed down with a lovey, crisp rose wine from the region and some incredible bread with butter from Normandy, France. It doesn’t get better than this. A great way to spend our last day in Lake Como. Tomorrow we head to the coast and another day of leisure in Rapallo. La Dolce Vita!

Lunch follows breakfast. What’s not to love about eating and enjoying the local produce and wine? La Dolce Vita!!

I had John Dorey fish with crisp pancetta while Debb had pistachio encrusted lamb chops. Yummy!!

But first, an amuse Bouche of melon and motzerella with a bit of pancetta. Yum. The food is amazing.
