July 1 -2020 Wroclaw, Poland 🇵🇱

Updated: Jul 2, 2021

Happy Canada Day! Today we drove 2 hours south of Swiebodzin to Wroclaw, a city that everybody loves. It’s a more manageable version of Krakow with all the cultural attributes and entertainment of that destination. But Wroclaw isn’t just a pretty face. It is Poland’s 4th largest city and the major industrial, commercial and educational centre for the region. Since the fall of communism, the city has had some success in attracting new investment, including the presence of LG Electronics. It is a centre of finance and tourism, and was designated a 2016 European Capital of Culture by the EU. One of the cities peculiarities is the 300+ bronze dwarfs that are hidden around the town centre and were part of a campaign to embarrass the mid-eighties communist regime.
