August 6, 7, 8 & 9 - Lake Tapps, Washington 🇺🇸

Updated: Aug 9, 2019

Nothing is better than summertime on the lake, except when you’re enjoying it with great friends. It has been wonderful to catch up with longtime friends, Dara & Dave, and to share their little piece of paradise. From morning walks along the Tacoma waterfront or Green River, to afternoon jet ski races, to evening cocktail cruises and beachside bonfires and golfing at Druid’s Glen Golf Club, there’s been no shortage of fun things to do. It’s like being a kid again and never wanting to go to bed! Lake Tapps is a man-made lake south of Seattle that was created in 1911 by Puget Sound Energy and operated for hydroelectric power until it ceased power production in 2004. The lake, which is a 2,880 acre recreational area, is home to yellow perch, largemouth bass, and black crappie, and we even saw a river otter last night as we were camped around the bonfire on the lake’s edge with our after-dinner beverages. Toward the south end of the lake there are gorgeous views of Mt. Rainier, the 14,400 foot active stratovolcano that sits in Mount Rainier National Park in the Cascade Range. The Pacific Northwest if so beautiful and green year-round and we have a special spot in our hearts for this area and the many good friends we made while living here. Thanks Dara & Dave for your hospitality.
